STL Sandbox is an invitation to practice moving through complex (often layered, ingrained, systemic) challenges toward a freer and fairer future - again, and again, and again. Through prompts, frameworks, and discussion that emphasize the intersection between the individual and the collective (organization, community, institution, system), Sandbox empowers individuals to consider, calibrate, and craft their own actions to better contribute to group- and ecosystem-level shifts..

Sandbox co-creator Adelaide Lancaster and I met when she was a board member during the time I served as executive director of the non profit formed during the sunset of the Ferguson Commission. In June of 2018 we began an epic thread on Marco Polo where we became each others’ sounding board for grappling through dynamics we encountered in our regional work. Our shared affinity for dot connecting, pattern finding, puzzle solving, and story weaving birthed STL Sandbox. Born out of and named for St. Louis, STL Sandbox content is place-agnostic, has survived Adelaide’s relocation to elsewhere in the midwest, and has participants from across the country. stlsandbox.com
